| The STS-76 crew took this picture of Mir-21 mission commander Yuriy I. Onufriyenko in the Base Block Module of Russia's Mir Space Station. The Space Shuttle Atlantis docked with Mir on March 23, 1996, at which time astronaut Shannon W. Lucid (out of frame) joined Onufriyenko and the mission's flight engineer, Yuriy V. Usachov, to begin the first leg of a 140-day stay aboard Mir as a cosmonaut guest researcher. |
